EMPower commissioned Brightwind, an Irish wind energy analysis consultancy, to perform a preliminary wind resource assessment based on the 2003 SEAI wind map. This report found the proposed Dyrick Hill Wind Farm study area to have a Class 2 wind resource. An 80 meter meteorological mast was erected in late 2021 in order to further analyse the wind resource across the Study Area and help to inform a project layout and determine how many wind turbines this Study Area can facilitate.
